Have you found a wedding ring? Are you nice enough to care that it gets back to the original owner?
There are a few simple steps to take that can increase the chances that you can reunite that ring with the person who lost it.
If the ring is registered and has the LostMyRing.Com and registration number, simply click here *** and report the item as found. We will forward an email to the account holder and they can contact you and make arrangements to get their ring back.
If the ring is not registered with us, we can still make some suggestions that might help you out.
Try to determine when the ring might have been lost. Did you find it in a parking lot or on the floor of a store? Or did you find it buried in the dirt in a park? If you think that the ring was lost in the last few days, then the person who lost it is still likely to be actively seeking it.
The steps below will be most useful if the ring was recently lost and the owner is still seeking it.
- Click on the Report Found Item link here on LostMyRing.Com and fill out a found item report.
- Check for an ad on Craig’s List in your local area under the lost and found category. The person who lost the ring will likely post there if they are an internet user.
- Check for an ad in the local paper. This may take a day or two to show up after the ring is found.
- Post an ad on Craig’s List. - The Craigslist.Com lost and found category has become very popular and many people start there to look for lost items.
- Post a couple of flyers near where it was found. If you found it at a place a person is likely to return to, like the gym or local grocery store, put a few flyers up at that location.
- Place an ad in the local paper. If the person who lost the ring is not an internet user, they are likely to look here. Put a very simple description in any ad that you post and ask anyone who attempts to claim the ring for a more detailed description. This will help you verify that they are the real owner.
Also, most people are good and honest, but we still suggest meeting the owner in a public place like a coffee shop. They don’t need to know where you live and you don’t need to know where they live. A nice safe public place will make everyone feel better.
Lastly, thanks for being nice enough to care!
